Hello and warm welcome to the very first edition of Word of Mouth for 2017.
As we enter what promises to be another exciting and intriguing year in the world of oral health, the Oral Health Foundation wants to see in a number of long and overdue changes introduced which would undoubtedly make a significant impact to our oral health for many years to come.
In this issue, we give you seven things to look out for over the next 12 months including a new dental contract, improvements in children’s oral health, gender-neutral HPV vaccinations… and of course, Brexit.
We also follow up on a terrific charity gala we supported earlier in the month. The night was organised by Rugby Area Talent Trust and featured some of the best young talent in the Warwickshire area. It was a wonderful night, strongly-attended and raised a great deal of money for charity while also giving young performers the opportunity to showcase their talents.
Also in this issue, we call on local authorities to do more to help improve their community’s oral health, while we comment on some new research which points to the number teeth we being an important indicator to how long we are going to live. And of course, it wouldn’t be a January edition of Word of Mouth without a feature about what New Year resolutions we can undertake to improve the health of our mouth!
We hope you enjoy this issue of Word of Mouth and once again, thank you for all your support.
